Troop 271 Committee Meeting

December 13, 2004

  1. Camping
    1. The holiday campout was held on Dec 3rd to the 5th. Approx. 60 people enjoyed an outstanding turkey dinner with all the trimmings. All had a great time.
    2. Winter Camporee will be held February 4 to 6, 2005 at D-A campground. The troop will stay in Johnston cabin.
    3. Miakonda campout is scheduled for March 18 to 20 at Miakonda in northern Ohio.
    4. Summer camp is scheduled for July 9 to 16 at Camp Rotary in Clare, MI. The troop has reserved the Uncle Otto campsite.
  2. Activities
    1. The Christmas party is scheduled for Saturday, December 19 from 12pm to 2pm at Morgans Arcadia on the corner of Beech Daly and Ford Rd. The cost will be $13.00 per person.
  3. Advancements
    1. Colin B. has achieved the Eagle Scout rank. February 6 is scheduled as the Court of Honor for our newest Eagle scout.
  4. Treasurers Report
    1. Treasurer Rod B. reported the troop to be in ok financial condition. Wreath sales were lower than have been in previous years.
  5. Quartermaster Report
    1. Randy K. reported on the food for the holiday campout. He also reported that he will service more tents in the near future.
  6. Webmasters report
    1. Our webmaster reported that hits to the troop website were down somewhat in the month of November. He did report that we were getting hits from all over the country and a few from outside the country. From Turkey.
  7. High Adventure Report
    1. 25 Scouts and parents are signed up to go camping overnight in a cave from January 15 to 16. All paid in full.
    2. The trip to Sea Base is still in the works with 6 spots still available.
  8. Policy and Rules discussion was tabled
  9. Roundtable.
    1. Ron R. discussed the possibility of a June high adventure trip. Possibly Wright-Patterson AFB.
    2. Randy K. received approval for the purchase of a new flagpole for the troop.
  10. Next meeting is January 10 at Docs house at 7:30 pm. The February meeting may be at Jerry B.'s Deli. Details to follow.
