Troop Committee Meeting

August 9, 2004

  1. Camping Report
    1. Summer camp was held from July 11 to July 18. 26 scouts and 13 adults attended camp.
    2. Mackinac Service Camp was July 31 to Aug 7. 7 boys attended as guides. They were Colin and Logan B., Andrew C., Ethan D., Andrew K., Brandon M., and Mike W.
    3. 8 Scouts attended trail to Eagle.
    4. Cedar Point is scheduled for September 17 to 19. The cost is $50.00 per scout.
    5. Camporee is scheduled for October 8,9, and 10 at Kensington Group Campgrounds.
    6. Winter Camporee is scheduled for Feb. 4 to 6. Mr. B. will do polar bear if the scout is prepared. Equipment checkout is required.
  2. Activities:
    1. Pool kickoff party is scheduled for Dr. M's. house on August 29 from 4 to 7 pm. Each scout should bring a food item. See your patrol leader for more information.
    2. The fall court of honor will be held September 26 in the early evening.
    3. Scout Mass is September 12 at 10:00 am.

  4. Treasurers Report
    1. The treasurer reported the troop was solvent.
    2. Father T. sent a letter of thank you for the donation made.
  5. Quartermaster Report
    1. Mr. K. reported he needed to spend $600.00 on troop equipment.
  6. Philmont Report
    1. The 6 scouts and the 4 adults had the adventure of a lifetime there.
    2. Sea Base is being looked into as the next high adventure. Possibly at Christmas 05.
    3. A regular high adventure trip is in the planning phases. June 17 to July 1st is a tentative date
  7. Scoutmaster Report
    1. Rob K. presented the new honor patrol points for the troop.
    2. Patrol of the period will take the place of Patrol of the quarter.
    3. Rank advancements points are now 200 points.
    4. The Scoutmaster was awarded 200 points for discretional use.
    5. Also points were awarded for PLC meetings, training, and service hours.
  8. Next Committee meeting is September 13 at 7:30 pm at Dr. M's house.
